Fathers’ Day was a light wind, extremely warm day to close out the Spring Series. CLSA’s hottest sailors on 23 boats sweltered through mercifully short windward-leeward races: 2 for Thistles & Highlanders, 1 for everyone else. The forecast breeze of 5-6 mph may have shown up near the end of the second race, but was nowhere in evidence any time earlier except for a few rare puffs.
Several crews may have been planning on waterfights between races, but had difficulty finding enough wind to get close enough to deliver a good broadside. Other sailors chose to briefly abandon ship to cool off.
