Betty Duncan Women's Championship Sailing Instructions

 

1 RULES

1.1 The regatta will be governed by the rules as defined in the Racing Rules of
Sailing and by the CLSA Sailing Instructions except Instruction 11.1, The Start
is changed from 3 minute warning signal to 5 minutes before the start and
Instruction 19, Scoring, is replaced by paragraph 5 below.
 

1.2 Class rules will be observed.

 

2 ELIGIBILITY

2.1 Entries are limited to female members of CLSA or their families.

 

2.2  Crew is open to skipper's choice, male or female.

 

2.3 A minimum of 3 boats required.

2.4 Skippers must register at least one week in advance of the scheduled event.


3 SCHEDULE

3.1 Skippers meeting is at noon.

 

3.2 The warning signal for the first race will be 1:00 PM followed by two additional races as soon as practical.


4 BOATS

4.1 Competitors may sail whatever class boat they wish.


5 SCORING

5.1 The Portsmouth Handicap System will be used to score the regatta.

 

5.2 Ties will be broken per Appendix A8.1 of The RRS. Ties that remain will be broken in favor of the best total corrected time of the tied competitors. This changes Appendix A8.2.


6 PRIZES

6.1 A trophy will be awarded to the winner at the CLSA Winter Dinner
